Third Carrickfergus Band

Formed in 1958 and situated in the historic coastal town of Carrickfergus, the Third Carrickfergus Band is a busy Championship Section band which not only is in great demand throughout the year giving concerts at many venues in Northern Ireland and beyond but also competes in various annual contests.

A Championship Section Brass Band from Carrickfergus

The Bands

A fter a long and successful history the band returned to the Championship Section in 2017 and have endeavoured to keep the fun in both the music played and in the rehearsals. Playing at local events and competing in various contests home and away keeps us busy.

The future success of the Third Carrickfergus Band relies heavily on the Youth band, the training ground for the musicians of tomorrow. Thankfully, we have a supply of talent coming through the ranks in order to ensure that the youth members talents are encouraged and hopefully inspire them to aim towards integrating into the senior band.

Buy a Brick! Help to secure the future of the Third Carrickfergus Band

As part of our fundraising to replay the loan required for the purchase of our new hall, the Band is introducing the ‘Buy-a-Brick’ campaign. Each full brick costs £500 and the Band would like to sell at least 80 of these. Each brick can be broken up into smaller pieces or you can buy more than one to make a bigger part of the wall.

Please Help Us if you can – We can be contacted directly via the email on the “Contact Us” page of this site.

All contributors will be officially recognised on our “Brick Display” board below and on our social media pages. Any assistance you can give the Band will be greatly appreciated. Our most grateful thanks to those noted below who have already purchased bricks.
