What a week it’s been for Third Carrick Band—full of music, community spirit, and plenty of sunshine!
We kicked things off last Sunday with a performance at the Marine Gardens in Carrickfergus, followed by a Wednesday evening appearance at Theatre in the Park, both kindly supported by our fantastic local council in Mid and East Antrim. On Friday morning, a few of our members visited Victoria Primary School to help inspire the brass players of the future—and we think we may have planted a few seeds!
Saturday afternoon brought a first for the band as we took part in the Whitehead Music and Mind Festival at Whitehead Car Park—a wonderful event we hope to return to. We rounded off the week today with a performance at Lady Dixon Park as part of the NIBA Belfast Parks programme, where the weather and the warm audience made it all worthwhile.
A huge thank you to Brian Connolly for preparing the band so well for each performance, and to every one of our players (and their families) for the amazing effort and support this summer. We’re especially proud that this year saw the fewest guest players ever for our summer season — a real credit to the Third Carrick family.
Now, a well-deserved short break before we dive into contest season—and then, before we know it, we’ll be spreading Christmas cheer once again! Thank you, as always, to our wonderful supporters—we couldn’t do it without you.
