Third Carrick Band will this year celebrate it’s Golden Jubilee and preparation are on-going to provide a weekend of events which begin on Friday 26th September 2008 and we are looking to contact all friends and former members of the band so we can keep you all up to date with the on-going arrangements. Whilst we have a database of names, lots of people have since moved on and we have no contact details. We look forward to hearing from you all and hope you will be able to join us for the celebrations.

A short summary of events is noted below:

The weekend starts off on Friday 26th September 2008 with a concert which will not only showcase the talents of the senior band but also the hard work and achievements of the ever growing junior band. Also on stage will be a special guest band made up of former players who will demonstrate that their talents are still up to scratch. In addition to this the band will premier a new march – “On the Castle Green” which was commissioned for the jubilee celebrations and which was composed by the very talented Paul Lovatt-Cooper.

On Saturday 27th September the band will host a gala dinner dance which will be held in the Clarion Hotel, Carrickfergus. Special rates (£80.00 per room, per night) have been agreed with the hotel for anyone wishing to stay for all or part of the weekend.

On Sunday 28th September the Jubilee weekend will close with a bandsmans service which will be held in North Street Church, Carrickfergus.
