Over the last few weeks there have been a number of positional changes within the band.

Firstly, we would like to congratulate Rachel Donaldson on her appointment as Solo Horn and her sister Rebecca Donaldson on her move from the back to the front row and to Hannah Copes on her move from the junior band to 3rd cornet in the senior band.

Congratulations too to David Hoppner who will take up the role of 2nd Horn in a move from 2nd Cornet and also to Peter Dawson who has moved to 3rd Percussion , a position which is more and more of a requirement in the compositions now being written for brass bands.

We also give a big Third Carrickfergus Band welcome to our new Bass Trombone player, Robert Frost, who joins us with a wealth of musical experience having played at the highest level for many years and we look forward to his input.

Finally, we would also like to take this opportunity to send our best wishes to Solo Cornet player Gavin Norris who has left us after many years of hard work and dedication in order to concentrate on his university studies. We will all miss him and are sure that he will have a successful future in his chosen career.

All of the above changes will ensure that the band continues to move forward as it challenges for success in the months and years to come.
