On Saturday 14th February, members of both the senior, junior and training bands competed at the annual Brass Band League Solo and Quartet Competition.

The very busy day began at 10AM in the Patton Halls, Belfast and concluded at 6PM. Well Done to all who entered and to the organisers of the event who once again made all participants comfortable.

The list of placings are noted below:

15 & Under Solo:Deborah Gourley – 2nd
17 & Under Solo:Rebecca Donaldson – 3rd
Slow Melody:Claire Hueston – 2nd
B Solo: Nichola McCarroll – 3rd
B Quartet::Peter Arthurs, Claire Hueston, Nichola McCarroll, Robin Clinton – 1st
Senior Ensemble: Peter Arthurs, Claire Hueston – 1st

The highlight of the day, other than the prizes that were won, came in the form of the brass quintet “Alba Brass”. This Glasgow based group are no strangers to the band and have visited us in the past to showcase their many talents.
