Youth Band
The future success of the Third Carrickfergus Band relies heavily on the youth band, the training ground for the musicians of tomorrow. Thankfully, we have a dedicated and plentiful supply of talent coming through the ranks thanks to the exhaustive and sometimes thankless efforts of Des Graham and other senior band members, who give their time and experience to ensure that the junior members cultivate and encourage their talents and hopefully inspire them to aim towards integrating into the senior band, which to date has been extremely successful, with a total of nine members of the current senior band having graduated from the junior band down the years.

The youth band compete in the annual Brass Band League solos and quartets competition and also at Carrickfergus musical festival. The band also gives an annual concert and prizegiving on the first Saturday in June each year.
Please note that the youth band now meet on a Saturday morning in the War Memorial Hall, Lancasterian Street from 10.00 am until 12.00 pm. If you would like to join the youth band, email us for further details at or simply turn up at rehearsals.
Cost is only £1 per week per person for instrument and tuition.
